Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium (ISLLC) Standards
Oakland University's Education Specialist in Leadership degree included an administrative internship over the course of two years, which enhanced my leadership skills. I have continued to improve in each area by participating in Oakland County's Aspiring Principals' Academy and shadowing my mentor Mrs. Peggy McKinley (Principal Kenbrook Elementary School in the Farmington Public Schools). Below I have listed each ISLLC Standard and provided documentation of my learning.
Standard I
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by facilitating the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of a vision of learning that is shared and supported by the school community.
Standard II
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by advocating, nuturing,and sustaining a school culture adn instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional development.
Standard III
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by ensuring management of the organization, operations, and resources for safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.
Standard IV
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and moblizing community resources.
Standard V
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes the success of the sutdents by acting with integrity, fairness, and in an ethical manner.
Standard VI
A school administrator is an educational leader who promotes success of the students by understanding, responding to, and influencing the larger political, social, economic, legal and cultural context.
Standard VII
A school administrator is an educational leader who understands and comprehensively applies technology to advance student achievement.
Standard VIII
A school administrator is an educational leader who synthesizes and applies knowledge and best practices and develops skills through substantial, sustained, standards-based work in real setting to advance student achievement.
